Humanity is at stake, our peers are lost and soon it'll only be us. One by one we are lost, not in space, or time, but our humanity. What even makes us human?

And why do we lose it?

The Crimson Crows

Louise fired her gun. What gun? I'm not quite sure, but she killed Rey. At the time, there was something, masking him. I can, vividly remember the sound of Louise walking on his corpse. … I heard a caw, and as I turned my head to see where it came from, my recollection of Louise disappeared. … I made my way down the cellar, and exactly what happened to Louise happened to me, except for one thing. I wasn't found by anybody, I was found by Rainelle.

~The Ellis Moorings Interview 4/23/21

Ellis Moorings was recovered from the brink of death in Sector Urban-type Halls Gamma, an instance of Level 0. Moorings was found face-down, with near fatal third-degree thermal and chemical burns across her entire body. She was covered in a blood-like substance that was still boiling by the time of discovery, with a crow atop her back.

Cooper, I don't see it. What did you mean? I take a deep breath, and let it slowly release. I didn't think I'd feel this empty. I feel like my heart's choking, and I feel utterly restless. I rise from my desk to take a walk.

I start heading to the wall, as I pass the few groups of people I can hear their chatter. The sounds fade out slowly as I exit the base. I take a look to the right, and see Louise sitting, with her eyes glazed with a blurry film. She's in that same spot every day. Her eyes are distant, looking far beyond what lies in the distance.
